Most of the children that the Hyderabad Cleft Society treats cannot afford any treatment. They also cannot pay for their transportation to and from the Hospital. We try to facilitate free treatment and transportation for patients born or suffering with cleft and craniofacial problems. A child born with a cleft and craniofacial defect requires multiple surgeries and treatment. Each surgery costs between US$ 300/INR 12,000 and US$ 500/INR 25,000.

HYDERABAD CLEFT SOCIETY

The Hyderabad Cleft Society (HCS) invites donations from individuals and corporates from anywhere in the world

The HCS is a registered non-profit Society with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

It is also permitted under the FCRA act by the Ministry of Home, Government of India to receive contributions and donations from outside India.

Monies donated to the HCS within India are partially exempt from Income Tax under section 80 (g) and 12 (a).

CLEFT CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL

The Cleft Children International (CCI) is based in Basel , Switzerland and was founded by Dr. mult. Herman F Sailer a world renowned craniofacial surgeon who recently retried as the Chief of Surgery in the Division of Craniofacial Surgery, University of Zurich , Switzerland The CCI raised funds for the MediCiti Institute of Craniofacial Surgery, Hyderabad , The Institute of Craniofacial Surgery, Mangalore and Department of Craniofacial Surgery, Hospital Protestant de Ngaoundere, Cameroon by running a fund raising program in Europe.

 

This organization funds the Institute of Craniofacial Surgery a sum of Indian Rupees 80,000,000 to do cleft surgeries including speech therapy every year.

They also support the Institute of Craniofacial Surgery to do 25 major craniofacial surgeries every year.

They also support the Institute of Craniofacial Surgery to do 50 orthodontic cases every year.

THE SMILE TRAIN

The Smile train Inc. is a New York based Not for Profit organization founded by Mr. Charles Wang, Chairman Emeritus, Computer Associates.

The brand ambassadors for The Smile Train include President George Bush, Secretary of State Colin Powell and actress Candice Bergen among others.

Its funding comes predominantly from the Information Technology industry in the United States of America including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

They support more than 150 centers in India , China , Taiwan and Vietnam .

The Smile Train has funded the Institute of Craniofacial Surgery for 3000 cases from November 2000 to October 2003.
